B.A.R.N.E.Y. Fever!

Arissa is soooooooo into Mr PURPLE - B.A.R.N.EY ;) Once at home, tak sempat mummy letak handbag lagi dah sebut 'Barney'2! (mintak mummy pasangkan CD Barney). If we were to go to malls, she will look out for Barney. Since d Barney items are quite spensive, so Mummy bought her tumbler first...

"SHOYIE MU-MMY"...

Children really are fast learners, as of last week 'Wan' (Arissa's granma @ mu-mmy's ibu) taught Arissa a new word - SORRY! Coz d lil one has a tendency to 'shout' for no reason at her 'moyang' and to add to dat, smack her 'moyang' too. So, Wan taught her to say 'sorry', each time after she shouts & she followed obediently.

Was taken by suprise when I was seated at the dining table at my mum's house last week when Arissa came in the kitchen riding her tricycle...she accidently bumped into my chair & said "shoyie mu-mmy", while touching mu-mmy's hand! I was like 'HUH'??? trying to figure out what she said when Wan informed dat she just said 'SORRY MU-MMY"! awhhh, how touching mu-mmy's lil gal is growing up really fast! Hopefully she maintains her good manners...

Speaking of manners, Arissa's 'please' no longer has a  'kok' at the end of it. Simply 'please' je.

Some updates on Arissa's milestones:
-Usually reach home daily at nite, so whenever we reach home & get out of d car Arissa would get out from d car & look up into d sky while saying 'Tinkle mummy'! Referring to 'twinkle lil star' and sometimes she does d 'twinkle lil star' action thingy. Arissa oso is able to sing along to d nursery rhyme especially d endings...


- Able to identify & name d human body parts; "Nosh, ears, mouth, hair, head, leg, feet, kaki, hand, aish- eyes. Also identify a cat's body parts including 'whiskers'...(her 2nd fav animal after teddy/bears)


- Shows appreciation towards nice/ pretty things...shoes, dresses especially those in her fav colour fuchsia/ pink by saying "NAISHE". Hmm, somehow dia ada extra "ashh"..haha ;p Hopefully it will go away as she grows up

- Arissa is a lil 'YB', who loves to befriend people! Evrywhere we go when she sees children her age she would firstly stare at them (nak kawan) & try to catch her future friend's attention by pulling at their slipper/ shoes (if they're seated) or else continue staring and pull the other friend's toy/ nk main bende sama jgak (kaki bully - not a good method of making friends Arissa ;p) But at the end, of it all she would definately do her 'public wave'...bye2 segala orang dat she meets on d way out of whichever place dat we are at...Mummy & ayah 'tumpang glamer'!

SHAME?!!!

My colleague just mentioned the word "same" when it immediately crossed my mind...It is one of Arissa's fav word now. But she pronounces "same" as "SHAME"! (Pelatla...somehow her 's' becomes 'sh")...

- She wud say "shame" when she sees ayah putting on socks, same as when mu-mmy puts on socks for her bile nk pegi jalan.

- "Shame" bile tengok iklan "Astro Beyond" yg budak kecik naik tricycle tu isap puting/ dummy just like her

- "Shame" bile mu-mmy reads to her & come across the word "girl" and points to herself.  

Besides that, Arissa can already say:
- Piyo (Pillow)
- Umbeya (Umbrella)
- Naishe (Nice) especially when she sees anything that is pink/ fuchsia


Ermm, what else...am definately thankful to Allah for giving me Lil Angel Arissa Sofea altho somtimes she can really drive mu-mmy & ayah "UP & DOWN THE WALL"!...haha! Arissa is growing up really fast & syukur that Arissa is a fast learner. She can remember the things that we teach her even after the first time.


Oh ya, Arissa also knows how to clean up after playing now...senang skit mu-mmy, tak perlu nk mengutip balik after she's done playing.

ARISSA SOFEA at 1 YEAR 9 MONTHS

LIL MS DIVA - no mo-mmy did not teach her to put her sunnies on her head. Wonder who?

2days back, 31 Dec 2009 my lil Arissa turned 1 year 9 months. She's grown a lot both physically & character wise. Mo-mmy is proud of your achievements darlin. Some updates on Arissa...


Weight: 13 kg (Paed said extra by few mili-kg...ideal weight 12.75kg)

Height: 86cm (Tall...for a 1 Yr 9 Months toddler)

New words/ phrases that Arissa can say, pronounce:-

- A...RI...SHA (Arissa)

- Batab (Bath tub)

- Tree for (Three Four)

- Jom...come

- Bee...Shiee (B...C)

- Vivi (TV - wud pull mu-mmy/ Ayah or anyone nearby to the TV area & request to switch on the TV). She enjoys 613 on Astro...from Dibo the Gift Dragon, Oh & Ah, Word World, Chuggington Town, Tigger & Pooh show, Mickey mouse show...followed by the 'Hot Dog Diggity Dog dance to Handy Manny ;) 
- Djom (Jom - when about 2 go 'jalan')
- "KOMOKI!" (Haha...Not sure where she learned this Japanese phrase from- but in Arissa's language it means = "Dukung please")
- Fluw (Flu...running nose)
- "Omak" (This is definately got from mo-mmy...melatah. Bad trait to inherit ;(

- "PEASH KOK" (Please, not sure what's with d 'kok' word at d end?!)
- O-o (If something is not rite...siap ngn expresssion muke - mulut in "O" form)
- There are some words which mo-mmy cant recall rite now.

• Arissa can climb up & down a flight of stairs quite fast altho without any assistance
• Big girl now, she voluntarily helps mo-mmy with  laundry...carry clothes to the clothes hanger area
• Cleans/ tidies up her toys (masak2 pots, pans, plates, etc) after finish playing with them without having mo-mmy to request her to do so
• After she's done eating after meals, she picks up her plates & glass and 'disposes'/ 'throws' it in the sink...since she cant reach the sink yet to put the plates nicely
• Can help to throw rubbish onto the rubbish bin/ trash can
• Looks for & prepares her teddy, pacifier & pillow everytime we're about to go out of the house (for outings, etc)...these are her 3 fav things & MUST-HAVES ;P
• Looks for her shoes at the shoe cabinet & tries putting on her shoes herself everytime we're about to go out...Mo-mmy's lil gal is very independent!

3 things for SURE tho...

1) Arissa has MAJOR TEDDY OBSESSION! Simply go 'GAGA' whenever she sees one ;)

                With latest Teddy that mo-mmy bought for Arissa...bigger than Arissa! On d right; Arissa's BFF...Mr Teddy! 

2) She's a KAKI LARAM & successful DIVA in the making! -As per seen in earlier pics & posts before this. 

3) Whatever it is, Arissa hates it when I doll her up...tie up her hair/ put on hair clips. She wud just take it off again within seconds after I put it on her. So, these are a few VERY RARE pics of her with her hair up...Lucky me for those few moments!

Never cud have imagine how it wud be when I can hear my own child baby talk ;) Before getting married & having a child of my own, i used to oggle & be jealous of mamas who had babies dat 'talk' in adorable baby babble. And now i have my own child who babbles & 'parrots' practically all words dat her lil ears can hear.

At 1 year 8 months & 1 day, Arissa Sofea can now 'say' some additional words although not in proper adult English...

• "YITE" - for 'Light'. She points at the 'yite' switch & say 'yite', requesting mummy to switch on the 'yite' before entering the bathroom, for mummy to wash her up after poop-ing process
• "PEASH" for 'Please'. As & when she wants something...easier said, when she remembers to say it...haha!
• 'UUU" for 'Thank you". Funny - for now she only manage to catch d 'U' sound only ;p  But Ok la its a start. Developing good manners. Way to go GIRL!
• 1, nope d very 2 words dat Arissa really 'parrots' mummy - The famous "NO NEED" phrase which Arissa is known for. Well yeah, d lil one doesnt comprehend the word "NO" so mummy resort to saying "NO NEED" which sometimes work. Otherwise, you wouldnt even get the chance to finish the word 'NO' before you see the door being slammed smack right to your face. Hmmm, dats Arissa for you! So the efficient at closing doors.
• "NO...NO...NO" - The other word which she is heard using quite daily. Siap dengan action of d lil finger shaking - similar to 'a-a-ah'!
• Ermm what other words...Oh ya, not sure why or how, but these past 3 weeks or so Arissa has this 'Chinese' slang thingy goin on...She says 'mummy' but with a typical Chinese slang. So, it becomes "Mummy ah"..."Teddi ah"; for her teddy bear - "Teddy'. Dahla Arissa nyer eyes memang Chinesy.
• Besides dat, 2 words like "Mummy Car" for "Mummy's car", "Kaki ni" if he feet got 'gatal', etc...
• Oh yes, she knows & can identify most parts of d body aready from d simple - Mouth, teeth, hair, feet, hand, fingers and many other to 'Big tummy' and "belly button' ;)

Arissa is also a 'dancing princess'. She's SOOOO into music - only up-beat & up to date songs tho like: - PIT BULL's 'Room Service'

             - KESHA's 'Tik Tok'

             - BLACK EYE PEAS's 'Meet Me Halfway'

She wud dance - put her hands up,wiggle & shake her right arm (somehow looks like a half chicken kepak2 dance ;p), stamp her feets, turn round in circles. But basically cam ada bakat terpendam 'cucuk langit' jer. Oh no!!! But its only natural dat kids love music rite & enjoy with funky moves to express themselves.

But d one thing dat I 'tak tahan' is whenever we are riding in the car & the radio plays some slow & un-funky song, she would pull my hand & 2nd finger to the radio dial and 'ask' me to change to another station/ song dat is more up-beat & fits her taste...So that she can dance to the Beat!

Well, thats my lil Angel Arissa Sofea...Love you bunches baby ;)

- "Anak" > referring to herself as per how Mr Hubby calls her
- "Dodok" (Duduk)

2. Arissa also can now identify things when we mention to her. Basically, Alhamdulillah anak mom-my buat masa ni kalau ajar sekali je selalunyer da bole remember. Hopefully berterusan yer baby ;)
- Door, Sofa, Window, Table, Chair, Fridge, Washing Machine, 


3. In terms of carrying out instructions pun, syukur baby mom-my also dah boleh compute & carry out the instructions...
- Bath/ Wash motion - She would immediately take her towel from the clothes hanger & standby in front of d toilet
- Take ayah's pillow - Terus masuk our bedroom & take ayah's pillow. Mind you, she knows d difference between Mr Hubby's & my pillow eventhoe the pillow cases are the same.
- Help mom-my > When I'm done with washing d clothes & need to hang d laundry. Arissa would immediately come to the washing machine, help carry some clothes (yang dia termampu) and bring it to the store room where we hang the laundry to dry.
- Close d door > ni memang sant efficient. Kadang tak sempat suruh, dah buat ;p
- Give ayah phone > She will hunt high & low for Mr Hubby's hp and when da jumpe pass it to him
- and a few other items which I cant recall right now coz Arissa is making noise -hungry...Till later ;)
